Cardified

Terms of use

Last updated 17 October 2026

Plain terms for a small, self-hosted site. Using an account here means accepting them.

Your account

  • You are responsible for what happens under your account, so pick a password you do not use anywhere else. Two-factor authentication is available on the Account page.
  • An account needs a working email address. Until you follow the link we send, the account works but the page cannot be published. One confirmed address holds one account.
  • If you lose your password, request an email reset link through Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. If you lose both your authenticator and your two-factor recovery codes, ask the site operator for help.
  • Usernames are permanent. The username is your page's address — and on a workspace account, the start of the address of every page under it — so changing one would break every link anybody has shared. Those pages under it can be renamed, which moves them and breaks only their own links.
  • One person, one account, unless you have been told otherwise.

Your content

  • What you upload stays yours. Publishing grants only what is needed to run the site: storing your files, converting your images, and serving your pages to visitors.
  • You confirm you have the right to publish what you upload — that the photos, artwork and wordmarks are yours or licensed to you.
  • Published pages are public and may be indexed by search engines.

What not to publish

  • Anything unlawful, or content that infringes somebody else's copyright or trademark.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or material that harasses, threatens or incites violence against anyone.
  • Explicit nudity, graphic sexual imagery, and explicit gore or graphic violence may not be displayed on Cardified pages, even where they are lawful elsewhere. You may link to lawful external services, provided what is shown on the page here complies with these terms.
  • Malware, phishing, or links that misrepresent where they lead.
  • Anything that impersonates another person or organization.

Running the site

  • The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of uptime and no promise that it will run forever. It is a small site, not a company with an operations team.
  • Keep your own copies of your images and text. Backups exist and are tested, but they are a safety net, not a promise.
  • Accounts or published pages may be suspended, restricted or removed where they break these terms, or where they create legal, security or operational risk for the service. Where it is reasonable to ask first, that is what will happen.
  • Anyone — user or visitor — may report content they believe breaks these terms or the law. Reported content may be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed or temporarily restricted while the report is looked into.
  • If the site is ever shut down, there will be notice and a chance to take your content with you.

Changes

These terms may change as the site does. The date above says when they last did; continuing to use your account after a change means accepting it.

Contact

Questions, complaints and takedown requests go through the contact form. To report a page as illegal, the report form asks the questions needed to act on it.
